Basketball Recap: Livingston Skates Past Denair with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Livingston). They breezed by the Denair Coyotes to the tune of 50-13 on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-5.

Elizabeth Avila had an outrageously good game as she posted 14 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.8 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasandra Soria, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Denair saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Piper Northcutt almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Livingston's record now sits at 2-4. As for Denair, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston will be taking part in a tournament against Chavez at 8:00 p.m. on December 19th. Denair will take on Central Valley in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at.
