Football Game Preview: Shawnee Mission North Bison vs. Olathe West Owls + How To Watch

The Shawnee Mission North Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Olathe West Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shawnee Mission North has given up an average of 40.5 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Shawnee Mission North came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by Mill Valley and fell 49-14. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Meanwhile, Olathe West faced Olathe Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Owls walked away with a 38-27 victory over the Ravens. The win was nothing new for the Owls as they're now sitting on five straight.

Olathe West's win came from a few key players Shawnee Mission North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brody Hale, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries. Those 98 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Sam Krzykowski was in the mix too, providing Olathe West with three scores.

Olathe West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Shawnee Mission North dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Olathe West, their record now sits at 7-1.
