The Anderson Raptors are taking a road trip to face off against the Turpin Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Anderson's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Anderson's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Milford for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-0 victory. Fans of the Raptors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Anderson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Davis out in front who rushed for 37 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 84 receiving yards. Owen Scalf was another key passer, throwing for 286 yards and one touchdown.
Anderson's run defense was locked in: Milford could only muster 1.1 yards per carry. While 15 picked up at least one total tackle, Ke'Maury Tye stood above the rest. He made one tackle and snagged two interceptions. Anderson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.
Anderson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tye led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. The game marked his first with multiple interceptions this season. Swing Mullins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Turpin). They claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over West Clermont. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Wolves are ranked 307th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anderson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for Turpin, their record is now 4-2.
Everything came up roses for Anderson against Turpin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-13 win. In that matchup, the Raptors amassed a halftime lead of 49-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
