Soccer Game Preview: Duluth vs. Lanier

The Duluth Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Lanier Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Duluth is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Grayson on Friday. Duluth took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grayson. It was the first time this season that the Wildcats let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Lanier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Johns Creek.

Lanier suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Duluth, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2.

Duluth came out on top in a nail-biter against Lanier in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Duluth since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
