Basketball Recap: Laton Triumphs

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Laton faced off against Coast Union on Friday. The Mustangs walked away with a 30-20 win over the Broncos. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 37-29 victory the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2017.

Laton can attribute much of their success to Gabriella Alvarado, who posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave Alvarado a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Laton and bumps their season record up to 2-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Maricopa and 1-6 Coast Union. As for Coast Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
