Baseball Game Preview: Grayson Rams vs. Heritage Patriots

For the second straight game, Grayson will face off against Heritage. The Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Patriots at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grayson has four straight wins, Heritage has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Grayson made easy work of Heritage and carried off a 14-4 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by ten runs or more this season.

Alex Espinoza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Arroyos, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Figueroa, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Grayson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one strikeouts batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Grayson pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
