Baseball Recap: Northside Comes Up Short

Northside entered their game against Taylor County on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Northside Eagles took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taylor County Vikings. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Taylor Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Northside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Valdes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Valdes has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northside fell to 3-1. As for Taylor County, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.

Coming up, Northside is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will challenge Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Taylor County, they will square off against Manchester at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
