Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Pepperell's 12th in Last 13 Outings

Pepperell got themselves on the board against Model on Friday, but Model never followed suit. They blew past the Blue Devils 10-0. Considering the Dragons have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Cooper Middleton, who gave up just four hits to keep Model off the board.

On the hitting side, Pepperell let JP Kilgo and Sam Ross run wild. Kilgo went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Ross scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Pepperell is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Model, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pepperell will head out to square off against Trion at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 4, the Bulldogs 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Model, they will square off against Heard County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
