Softball Recap: The Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

The Academy entered their tilt with Peak to Peak on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Pumas. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Pumas walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Finley Stark was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Stark was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, Adrina Arenas and Harper Scott did most of the damage at the plate: Arenas went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Scott went 3-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Scott a new career-high.

The Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.

The victory got The Academy back to even at 10-10. As for Peak to Peak, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. The Academy will take on Jefferson Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Peak to Peak, they will face off against Adams City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
