Softball Recap: Elkhorn Gets the Win

Elkhorn's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bennington Badgers, sneaking past 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Antlers in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Lina Aden's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Elkhorn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Michaud, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ella Pearson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Elkhorn's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Bennington, they dropped their record down to 5-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn will head out to challenge Mercy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bennington, they will venture away from home to square off against Wahoo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
