Basketball Recap: West Shores Comes Up Short

West Shores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 36-17 fall against the Holtville Vikings.

Despite the loss, West Shores still got an impressive performance from Nayeli Acosta, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Acosta a new career-high.

Among those leading the charge was Melany Estrada, who earned 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallorie Kellum, who put up four points and ten rebounds.

West Shores' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Holtville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.

West Shores wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 32-29 victory against Desert Mirage on the 17th. As for Holtville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-13 loss against Calipatria on the 14th.
