Soccer Game Preview: Clear Lake vs. AGWSR

Clear Lake is on a three-game streak of home losses, and AGWSR a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Clear Lake Lions will be playing at home against the AGWSR Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Clear Lake will be strutting in after a win while AGWSR will be coming in after a loss.

Clear Lake headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Charles City let them put that streak behind them. The Lions put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 6-1 victory on Monday. Clear Lake haven't had any issues with Charles City recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when AGWSR challenged Humboldt on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-1.

AGWSR's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Clear Lake, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Clear Lake took their win against AGWSR in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-2 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
