Softball Recap: Douglas County West Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

There's no place like home for Douglas County West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Gretna East Griffins on Monday.

Douglas County West saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Zach, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Douglas County West is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Gretna East, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-10.

Douglas County West has already played their next matchup, a 5-2 win against Central City on the 25th. As for Gretna East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Bennington on the 23rd.
