Basketball Recap: Caden Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Linfield Christian over Elsinore

It was a proper cat-fight when Linfield Christian duked it out withElsinore on Wednesday. The Linfield Christian Lions took a hard 62-43 fall against the Elsinore Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 67-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Johnson, who posted 25 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Auti Cabrera, who had 11 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Linfield Christian dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Elsinore, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Linfield Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-44 win against Sultana on the 13th. As for Elsinore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-38 victory against Perris on the 13th.
