Basketball Recap: Arianna Saldivar Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Steele Canyon

On Friday, the Bishop Amat Lancers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Steele Canyon Cougars, taking the game 39-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Bishop Amat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Saldivar, who posted seven points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lily Harris, who scored nine points.

Bishop Amat smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Aleyah Ibrahim and Amira Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ibrahim put up seven points along with 17 rebounds and four blocks, while Williams had six points. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in assists (four).

Bishop Amat now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Steele Canyon, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Bishop Amat wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-37 loss against Schurr on the 7th. As for Steele Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-43 defeat against Fallbrook on the 6th.
