Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mullen). They blew past the Englewood Pirates 28-16 on Monday. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 6th (when they won 17-1).
The team relied heavily on Roslyn Fresquez, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alena Martinez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Mullen lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Mullen pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
