Baseball Game Preview: Westbrook Blue Blazes vs. Gorham Rams

Westbrook is 2-8 against Gorham since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blue Blazes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Westbrook came up short against Windham and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Gorham had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Rams have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Washburn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Gorham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portland only posted an OBP of .364.

Gorham's win bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Westbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
