            Basketball Recap: Yosemite Badgers vs. Sierra Chieftains        
        
		
        
        
            Yosemite played a tough  contest  on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost  52-32 to the Sierra Chieftains. The Badgers haven't had much luck with the Chieftains recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Yosemite lost, don't look at  Jadyn Johnson. Despite the final result, she  dropped  a double-double on 14  points and 17  boards. That's the most  rebounds  Johnson has posted since back in February of 2024.
 Even though they lost, Yosemite  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive rebounds. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 2.2  offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 11.9.
  Kinley Ferguson went supernova for Sierra,  putting up 17 points along with eight  boards and eight  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Betty Burley, who  went 7 for 14  on her way to 15  points in addition to eight  rebounds and five  steals.
Yosemite's  defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-14. As for Sierra, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record  this season.
 Yosemite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  56-45  loss against Parlier on the 24th. As for Sierra, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  68-24  victory against Fowler on the 24th.
