Nixon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 76) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Boerne-Champion Chargers 51-50. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

William Palumbo produced another solid effort going 6-for-14 to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Escobar, who posted six points and seven assists.

Nixon's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Boerne-Champion, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Nixon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 defeat against Alexander on the 6th. As for Boerne-Champion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-30 loss against United South on the 6th.
