Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

The Northgate Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clayton Valley Charter took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Northgate, who comes in off a win.

Northgate is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over Dublin. The Broncos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northgate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddison Sardelich, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 23 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Sardelich a new career-high in boards. Samantha Myhr was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter entered their game against Acalanes on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Clayton Valley Charter had to suffer through a 73-39 loss at the hands of Acalanes. While losing is never fun, the Ugly Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Dons are ranked ninth).

Clayton Valley Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Northgate, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Northgate suffered a grim 46-24 defeat to Clayton Valley Charter in their previous meeting on Friday. Can Northgate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
