Soccer Game Preview: Presentation vs. Valley Christian

The Presentation Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Valley Christian Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Presentation will be strutting in after a victory while Valley Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Presentation gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a goal and slipped past St. Ignatius College Preparatory 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 53rd).

Jacinda Bateman and Katherine Kelly scored both of Presentation's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Valley Christian's offense. They came up short against Saint Francis on Saturday, falling 6-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-2-4. As for Presentation, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5-1.

Presentation suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Valley Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Presentation avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
