Basketball Game Preview: McCool Junction Mustangs vs. Twin River Titans

The McCool Junction Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Twin River Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Friday. McCool Junction came out on top against Sutton by a score of 55-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McCool Junction.

McCool Junction can attribute much of their success to Carson McDonald, who went 9-for-18 on his way to 23 points and eight boards, and Dylan Gonnerman, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. McDonald's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Mierau, who scored three points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twin River). They walked away with a 65-57 win over H&H on Saturday.

McCool Junction now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Twin River, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

McCool Junction was able to grind out a solid win over Twin River in their previous matchup back in January, winning 65-53. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
