See the San Clemente High catcher and No. 54 overall pickSan Clemente (Calif.) and
Plant (Tampa, Fla.) each landed a pair of players in the first two rounds of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, which saw 34 high school players chosen in the first two rounds Monday.
San Clemente's
Kolby Allard, a left-handed pitcher who missed most of the season due to an injury, went to the Atlanta Braves with the No. 14 overall pick while catcher
Lucas Herbert also went to the Braves with the No. 54 overall pick.

Kyle Tucker was the second high school player chosen in the draft, as he went to the Houston Astros with the No. 5 overall pick. His brother Preston Tucker is currently on the Astros' Major League roster. Plant teammate
Jake Woodford, a right-handed pitcher, went to the St. Louis Cardinals in the Competitive Balance Round A, No. 39 overall.
Brendan Rodgers of
Lake Mary (Lake Mary, Fla.) led a list of nine Florida players selected in the first two rounds. Rodgers was the first high school player chosen in the draft, No. 3 overall, by the Colorado Rockies. All 34 players chosen in the first two rounds can be found on the MaxPreps

Some of the surprises on the first day included
Dazmon Cameron of
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, Ga.) slipping to the Astros with the No. 37 overall pick. At one time, Cameron was considered a potential No. 1 overall draft pick and was considered in most mock drafts as a top 10 pick. Cameron was one of six Georgia players selected in the first two rounds.
A pair of pitchers tabbed by several mock drafts to be first round picks are still available heading into the second day.
Donny Everett of
Clarksville (Tenn.) is the top-ranked player not chosen on the first day, according to MLB.com. Meanwhile,
Justin Hooper of
De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), considered to be the top lefthander in the Class of 2015, is still on the board.
Day 2 of the MLB Draft begins at 1 p.m. ET with rounds 3-10.
