Softball Recap: Window Rock Takes a Loss

Window Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chinle Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

Teaghan Nez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Owens, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Chinle, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Window Rock has already played their next matchup, a 13-7 win against Ganado on the 11th. As for Chinle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against Tuba City on the 14th.
