Preview: Mammoth Huskies vs. Trona Tornadoes
Mammoth has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Trona Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Mammoth came up short against Lone Pine and fell 28-21. Mammoth has not had much luck with Lone Pine recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Audrey Borunda, who scored 12 points along with 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Smyth, who scored 5 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Trona's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Mammoth 50-9. Trona was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Trona, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Mammoth against Trona in their previous meeting on Tuesday as the squad secured a 50-9 win. Does Mammoth have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trona turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
