Basketball Recap: Sidney Medellin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hayfork over Redding Christian

If Hayfork was riding high fresh off their 64-16 takedown of South Fork last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hayfork Timberjacks came up short against the Redding Christian Lions on Thursday, falling 68-45. The Timberjacks have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Timberjacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sidney Medellin, who posted 17 points. Riley Bayley was another key player, putting up nine points.

Hayfork's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Redding Christian, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Hayfork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-11 victory against Big Valley on the 17th. As for Redding Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-34 win against Los Molinos on the 17th.
