            Softball Recap: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Lincoln East Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Omaha Westside faced Lincoln East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors skirted past the Spartans  7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  9-7  last Monday.
 Baylee Heffernan was a standout: she got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Taryn Lewis was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Omaha Westside  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in three consecutive  matchups.

Omaha Westside's win was  their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-4. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln East, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha Westside is set to  take on  their familiar foe Elkhorn South  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Lincoln East will  face off against  rival Gretna  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
