Softball Recap: Lincoln's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Lincoln was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Glenwood Rams by a score of 8-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lynx as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Hanna Ferguson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Lincoln let Ana Watkins and Emily Townstead run wild. Watkins went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI, while Townstead went 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Watkins a new career-high.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Glenwood, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will host Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-5 loss against Pocahontas on the 21st.
