Basketball Recap: Wood Takes a Loss

Wood fought the good fight in their overtime match against River City on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River City Raiders. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly five points.

Despite the loss, Wood still got an impressive performance from Amiyah Murry, who posted 22 points along with seven boards and four blocks. The game was Murry's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikyah Dixon, who had eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, Wood was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Wood dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for River City, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood will host Sacramento at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for River City, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rodriguez at 7:30 p.m.
