Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 13-17. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jacksonville Crimsons. The loss was just more heartbreak for Springfield who fell 5-3 when the teams previously met back in May of 2025.

As for Jacksonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

For Jacksonville's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Rohlk, who went 1-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Springfield will square off against Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jacksonville, they will face off against Greenfield/Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.87 runs per game on average), something the Crimsons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
