Basketball Recap: Beverly Hills Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Beverly Hills Normans had to suffer through a 75-38 loss at the hands of the Scripps Ranch Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Normans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while the Falcons are ranked 260th).

Scripps Ranch was led to victory by Clare Valentine and Ree Ree Davis. Valentine dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds, while Davis almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Valentine's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Katrina Purcell was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Beverly Hills and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Scripps Ranch, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Beverly Hills will square off against Muir at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Scripps Ranch, they will face off against Cathedral Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Scripps Ranch's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
