Basketball Recap: Mater Dei Catholic Has No Trouble Against Pacifica Christian

The Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders didn't have too much trouble with the Pacifica Christian Tritons on Saturday as they won 50-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Jarika Chan had a dynamite game, going 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points and four steals. What's more, she also posted a 55% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Promise Martin, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Mater Dei Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Mater Dei Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pacifica Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Mater Dei Catholic will be taking part in a tournament against Carlsbad at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pacifica Christian, they will take on San Juan Hills in a tournament on Monday.
