Volleyball Recap: Newman Grove/St. Edward Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newman Grove/St. Edward had won two straight games and Serenity Strong did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Panthers came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Elba Bluejays for which the team can thank Strong, who had 13 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Newman Grove/St. Edward got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 25-18.

Newman Grove/St. Edward's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Elba, with the defeat, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 6-5.

Coincidentally, Newman Grove/St. Edward and Elba will both be playing High Plains the next time they take the court. The Bluejays will head out to face the Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
