Football Recap: Pace Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pace Academy had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it five. They fell 21-14 to the M.L. King Lions. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for M.L. King, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 30.4 points this season.

M.L. King's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Dobbs, who threw for 128 yards and three TDs. Jamarcus Harper helped Dobbs out on the ground, rushing for 106 yards on only 14 carries.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pace Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Drew at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, M.L. King will face off against rival Creekside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 12.6, the Seminoles 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
