After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherry Creek, Arapahoe was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Regan McGinnis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Delaney Cooper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
Arapahoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Arapahoe moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Smoky Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Arapahoe will venture away from home to square off against Pine Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Smoky Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
