Softball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral had taken Regis Jesuit down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Wolverines came up short against the Raiders, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered against the Raiders since September 26, 2018.

Scarlett Hum was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Riley Weber was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Regis Jesuit, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will take on Castle View at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sabercats have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Regis Jesuit, they will square off against Legend at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
