Softball Recap: Buena Vista Bison vs. Omaha Central Eagles
Buena Vista extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Omaha Central Eagles, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 on Tuesday.
As for Omaha Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. Considering they have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Omaha Central's part, Edie Titus made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Titus has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Katelyn McClure was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Jaramillo, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
