Basketball Recap: Front Range Christian Takes a Loss

Front Range Christian lost against Heritage Christian back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Front Range Christian Falcons were beaten by the Heritage Christian Eagles 76-44. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Eagles are ranked 103rd).

Despite the loss, Front Range Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zach Woo dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Woo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Haedan Morton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Heritage Christian was led to victory by Alec Lundy and Levi Hermsen. Lundy went 12-for-23 to rack up 25 points, while Hermsen dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Lundy now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Nevarez, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Front Range Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for Heritage Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Front Range Christian has already played their next contest, a 74-42 win against Gilpin County on the 18th. As for Heritage Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-44 victory against Estes Park on the 18th.
