Baseball Recap: Berrien Find Success

After losing to Brantley County the last time they met, Berrien decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Berrien walked away with a 6-3 win over Brantley County on Friday.

Gherig Galaraza looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Berrien's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was David Kilpatrick, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Kilpatrick a new career-high in RBI (two). Conor Nix also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Berrien's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Brantley County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brantley County beat Berrien by a score of 14-0 later that day.
