Buchholz is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Providence School is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bobcats will host the Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buchholz is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Buchholz's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Forest as they made off with a 9-0 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Cohen Lafler tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Buchholz got a massive performance out of Kai So, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Roen Kresak was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Buchholz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Providence School beat Richmond Hill 8-4 on Friday.
Ryan Smith looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Grant Sheppard was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Matricardi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Buchholz's win bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Providence School, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8.
