Soccer Game Preview: Vista vs. San Dieguito Academy

The Vista Panthers will challenge the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Vista managed to keep up with El Camino until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Vista lost 5-0 to El Camino. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pirates a 3-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by three goals or more this season.

San Dieguito Academy pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six contests. As for Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11-3.

Vista might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from San Dieguito Academy in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Vista was down 9-0.
