Volleyball Recap: Milford Snags 17th Victory in Last 21 Games

Milford posted their closest victory since September 27th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Novi Wildcats 2-1. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Their offense was headlined by Ellaena Michelin and Ashlyn Charder, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Delaney Heflin and her 26 assists. Lexa Pierson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Novi's loss came despite strong showings from Myla Bellavoine and Mallory Stoy. Bellavoine had nine digs and three aces, while Stoy had seven digs and four assists.

Milford has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season. As for Novi, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-12.

Milford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Clarkston on the 11th. As for Novi, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hartland on the 14th.
