Basketball Recap: Pioneer Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pioneer entered their tilt with Vacaville on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 57-49 win over the Vacaville Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-56 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Vacaville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gianna L?pez posted 16 points. L?pez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Britain Gonzales, who had ten points.

Pioneer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Vacaville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

The future could be bright for both Pioneer and Vacaville: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Pioneer will look to extend Wood's four-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vacaville will try to hand River City their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
