Lane Tech is a perfect 4-0 against Amundsen since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Champions will take on the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Lane Tech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Lane Tech fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Maine South on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 5-4.

Dodger Friedrich was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Henry Murray and Teo Greco did some serious damage despite the final result: Murray got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Greco went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Amundsen lost 10-2 to Lane Tech on Friday. The Vikings have struggled against the Champions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Amundsen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Gaietto, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Pierce Bakker was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Amundsen's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lane Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Amundsen's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lane Tech has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Amundsen, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Lane Tech's sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.

Lane Tech took their victory against Amundsen in their previous matchup on Friday by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Champions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
