Manzano hadn't done well against Eldorado recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Monarchs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Golden Eagles 3-2. For the Monarchs, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Golden Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Manzano got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-5.
Tenille Coleman paced Manzano's offense, picking up 15 kills. Coleman got some help from Paige Young and her 22 assists. Delilah Murphy controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Manzano's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Eldorado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
