Mahanoy Area won the last time they faced Jim Thorpe and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mahanoy Area Golden Bears blew past the Jim Thorpe Olympians 49-18. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Mahanoy Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Felicia Bro led the charge by putting up 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bro has scored at least a third of Mahanoy Area's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Kowalick, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Mahanoy Area's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Jim Thorpe, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
