Recap: Serra Cavaliers vs. Burroughs Bears
After flying high against the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves on Tuesday, the Serra Cavaliers came back down to earth. Serra lost to Burroughs on the road by a decisive 58-39 margin on Wednesday. Serra found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Serra saw an underclassman step up: Kaicia Snelson scored 19 points. The matchup was Snelson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Foster, who scored 7 points.
Among those leading the charge was Mariam Fahs, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Amoroso, who scored 11 points along with 5 steals.
Serra now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Burroughs, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Serra's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oaks Christian at 2:00 p.m. on November 24th. As for Burroughs, they will take on Wiseburn- Da Vinci at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
