Given the Scotties' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th in Pennsylvania, while the Crusaders are ranked 279th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clairton came tearing into Monday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 52-32 win. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Clairton's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Union Area, their win bumped their record up to 24-0.
