Soccer Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton vs. Woodside

The Menlo-Atherton Bears will take on the Woodside Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Menlo-Atherton's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Menlo-Atherton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Burlingame out 1-0. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Woodside and Aragon finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Menlo-Atherton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six games. With that draw, Woodside's record moves to 5-2-3.

Menlo-Atherton came up short against Woodside when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Menlo-Atherton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
