Baseball Recap: Havana Comes Up Short

Farmington hit Havana with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ducks came up short against the Farmers, falling 12-2. If the Ducks were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to the Farmers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Havana saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Turner has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

The loss snapped Havana's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6-1 record. As for Farmington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-1 record this season.

Havana and Farmington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Ducks (ranked 226th) will meet Astoria/VIT (ranked 586th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Farmington will challenge Galva at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (209 vs. 554).
